Good Quality Paper for the Price

This is good quality paper for its price. It may not be the best for watercolour media - I use ink. I immersed the paper in water and had no issues with it. Being 300gsm it should hold up. Also, the texture has a lot to do with the surface and as stated on the pad the surface is medium.

Regarding the comments by the previous reviewer- yes the quality of the paper is very important but so is the quality of brushers and paints used.

Not great

Worked OK with ink and wash, urban sketching - and light washes at that - heavier washes were terrible. Was not good for pure watercolor paintings. It's student grade wood pulp paper. The texture is a bit strange too. Having tried a whole range of papers this one is the last one I'd use. W&N sketchbooks are 100% cotton and a similar price for A5 - much better paper. When doing watercolor spend your money good the best 100% cotton paper you can afford. You can go cheaper on paints, and brushes but not paper.
